WEEKLY REFLECTION 2
WEEKLY REFLECTION 2
(11 JULY – 15 JULY 2022)
The
second week of the teaching practice was a busy one for me. I need to complete
the portions of both VIII and IX classes. In the first day I introduced a new
lesson in VIII C, The little round red house by Carolyn Sherwin Bailey. I used pictures
and videos to enhance the teaching learning experience of the students. Meaning
of difficult words were given through images and videos. So that the students
could easily grasp the meaning of those words.
In the second day I got an hour at VIII C
and took then remaining portions of the lesson Th little round red house. In
that day the teachers said that the teacher trainees should serve the meals for
the students. So, in that day onwards we serve the meals for the students. But
this totally a different experience for me and I really enjoyed it. According
to the instruction provide by our HM all the teacher trainees should manage class
before prayer. So, when we reach the school, we suddenly went to different classes
and manage the students.
The
third day of the second week started with a news that our optional teacher will
visit the school to observe the classes. Our optional teacher informed us to
arrange the class for the observation. In the afternoon session she reached the
school and observed my class. I took the lesson Tolstoy Farm in IX C and the students
cooperated well. After the class teacher pointed out certain mistakes in my
teaching and she asked me clear it in the next class. She really helped me by
pointing out the mistakes and gave necessary correction. So, I understand the
mistakes in my teaching.
In the
fourth and fifth day as, usual I got a class at IX B and took the remaining portion
of Tolstoy Farm. In the fifth and the last working day of that week I got a
substitution hour at IX A, Malayalam medium. The students were very active and friendly.
The students want to do something, so I asked them to conduct a debate.
In the afternoon
session an history quiz competition was held in the main hall. The history
teacher asked us to attend the program. We controlled the students and managed
the program. Around 35 high school students were participated in the program.
